Claire Mae Dillbeck Roper

Claire Mae Dillbeck Roper, 79, of Marionville passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Aurora, the daughter of John Herman and Alice (Phariss) Dillbeck.
She was a 1961 graduate of Monett High School, in Monett and attended St. John’s School of Nursing where she received her degree in nursing and became a registered nurse and worked at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of the Monett VFW Post 4207 auxiliary.
In 1962, she married John Maurice Roper, in Harrison, Ark. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1982.
Roper is survived by two sons, John Roper and James Roper of Marionville; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; a brother, William Dillbeck (Sandy), of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice; husband, John; brother, John Arlen Dillbeck and sister Rosemary Forrester.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville. Burial will follow at the Spring River Cemetery in Verona.
