Clifford Lawrence Benson

Clifford Lawrence Benson, 86, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at the Lawrence County Manor, in Mt. Vernon. He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Fremont, the son of Clifford Jenkins and Ruby (Deboard) Benson.
Benson graduated from the Fremont High School, in Fremont, and was a plant manager for General Motors retiring after 35 years.
On May 7, 2000, he married Patricia Elaine Cahall, in Chestertown, Md.
Benson is survived by his wife of 21 years, Patricia; one son, Clifford Benson, Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio; four daughters, Rose Marie of Ohio, Audrey Paul of Mt. Vernon, Paula Allen of Koshkonong, and Roberta Brown of Harrington, Del.; one brother, Bob Benson (Nancy), of Bakersfield, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Benson was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford, and Ruby; daughter, Barbara Benson, granddaughter, Annie Brown; brother, Pete Benson and sister, Rosemary.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon.
