Connie Jo Johnson

Connie Jo Johnson, 79, of Pierce City passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Johnson, April 30, 1983.
She was born and raised in northeast Oklahoma on Nov. 6, 1942. She married Roger Lee Johnson, on July 12, 1959. From that union, two daughters were born, Janene and Julie, both of Pierce City.
Also surviving is one sister, Billie Fisher of Coweta, Okla. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Holmes and his wife Dee, of Coweta, Okla.
Johnson was very proud of her Indian heritage. Her grandparents were full-blooded Cherokee Indians whom she enjoyed spending time with when she was a child.
She loved her church home “Chapel of Grace” in Monett. She served as coordinator of the fifth wheels group at the church that was for widows and widowers who got together each month for an outing to share time in fellowship. She also was the greeter at church each Sunday morning and handed out the bulletin.
The family received friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City from 6-7 p.m on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Funeral services were at Chapel of Grace in Monett beginning at 2 p.m. on June 10, 2022 with Pastor Jimmie Finch and Pastor Doug Williams officiating. Burial followed at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City.
Memorials may be made to Chapel of Grace in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
