She is predeceased by both of her parents and her son, Daniel H. Wilson.
Connie was born on December 14, 1926, to Charles and Larene Sutherby in Kansas City, Kansas, where she spent the first few years of her life.  Around age nine she moved to Wichita, Kansas, and started attending church regularly at the age of 12.  She was a 1944 graduate of North High School in Wichita, Kansas.  She met the man she referred to as her “Sweetie” when she was 14, he was 15.  He whistled at her one day on his walk home and they began getting to know each other.  She married that sweetie of hers on August 30, 1944, when she was 17 years old and waited while he went off to fight in WWII.  She worked hard to save money and buy the things they would need for their home.  They lived in Wichita until 1953 when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona.  Connie attended some college at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.  They knew they wanted a family and prayed for this as they served the Lord faithfully.  In 1958 they adopted their son, Daniel Harold Wilson.  A few years later in 1960 they were blessed with another child through adoption, a daughter, Jill Larene (Wilson) Goodman.  The Lord was faithful to answer their prayers and give them the desires of their heart.  Then in 1964, they were blessed a third time receiving another daughter through adoption, Amy Lou (Wilson) Cryer.  Connie’s greatest desire while here on Earth was to be a mother and she took this job seriously.  She loved her children fiercely and raised them in a loving Christian home.  Connie was a reverends wife and loved people, all people.  She often would open her home and her heart to those in need.  She was a shining example, letting the love of Jesus Christ flow through her to reach others.  She and George lived in Phoenix for quite a while before they heard God calling them elsewhere.  In 1978 they uprooted and moved to Mount Vernon, Missouri, where they planted a church.  It was called Christ in You Ministries before the name was changed to Christ Chapel.
Connie is often referred to as a second mom by many people.  She never turned anyone away and the word most often used to describe her is welcoming.  She genuinely cared for everyone that crossed paths with her.  Connie was an amazing cook, she enjoyed making Sunday lunch for her entire family over the years.  She loved to sing, especially to her children and grandchildren.  Two songs she sang and sang often were “You are my Sunshine” and “Come into my Heart”.  She helped babysit most of her grandchildren and lived close to all of them when they were little at one time or another.  Some other things she enjoyed were sewing, crossword puzzles, gardening, bird watching, Hallmark movies and keeping up with her family through Facebook.  Connie’s pride and joy was her family, her love for them knew no limits.
Connie’s two favorite Bible verses are John 3:16 and Romans 10:9. She gave her heart to Jesus at a young age and followed him completely ever since.  She will be missed deeply by her family, friends, and all those who knew her, but we rejoice and celebrate her being joined together for eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A private family burial will be held at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
