Curtiss Dale Lynch

Curtiss Dale Lynch, 74, of Sarcoxie passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Lynch entered this life on Tuesday, July 29, 1947 in Joplin to the union of the late Harold Floyd and Helen Lee (Hasselbring) Lynch. He went to Sarcoxie Schools and later obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Pittsburgh State University. On Nov. 1, 1968 he enlisted in the United States Army, retiring in 1985 as a Master Sergeant. His career field was military intelligence. During his enlisted years he received many commendation medals and ribbons. Army commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Extraordinary Medal, Four Overseas Service Bars, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm and Sharpshooter Expert and was active member of the group Duffies.
On Oct. 4, 2011 he was united in marriage to Linda Campbell and together they shared 10 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie, the American Legion, the Sarcoxie Sentinels, a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and was involved and supportive of the Veterans Memorial in Sarcoxie. He recently returned home from the veterans honor flight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lynch and Helen Howard; brother,Gregory Earl Howard; and Joyce Lynch.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Verna Robertson of Neosho, Amy Jasinski (Chad), of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jordan Levi Lee (Caitlyn) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren; siblings, Keith Howard (Jan), of Overland Park, Kan., David Howard (Barbara), of Joplin and Jonalee Gordon, of Sarcoxie; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services with full military honors for Lynch are 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating. Inurnment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sarcoxie. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Vernon Veterans Home in care of the funeral home.
