Daniel Lewis Cameron

Daniel Lewis Cameron of Maud, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Dan was born August 25,1947, in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of the late Robert and Joyce (Williams) Cameron Sr.
He spent his early years as a resident of Enfield, Illinois, and in 1962 his family moved to the Miller, Missouri, area. Dan was a 1965 graduate of Miller High School and worked several years at Dayco in Springfield, Missouri. He was the owner of the Stotts City Bodyshop and was a long-haul truck driver for over 50 years and drove for Nick’s Transport in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a member of the Victory City Baptist Church in Hooks, Texas.
On November 16, 2006, he married Judy Ellen Heapes in Harrison, Arkansas.
Dan is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons, Tim Cameron, David Cameron, and Daniel Cameron Jr; one daughter, Sandra Schoen; three brothers, Robert Cameron, Joe Cameron, and Scott Cameron; seven grandchildren; one stepson, Bryan Moore and five step grandchildren.
A visitation was held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a graveside service that followed at 11:45 a.m. at the Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Rock Prairie Cemetery or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
