Dennis R. Allman

Dennis R. Allman, 92, died July 26, 2022. He was born July 23, 1930 in Barry County Missouri. He was the son of Ira Allman and Beulah Wilson Allman. Dennis attended Aurora High School. Following high school he began work at Carnation Milk Company in Mt. Vernon as a punch press operator. After 6 years at Carnation he joined the armed forces in the Korean War. He served as a private E/2 between 1953-1954. After the war he went back to work at Carnation and continued his career for the next 38 years retiring January 29, 1992. On July 29, 1955, Dennis married Deleva Sue Thurman, giving them 66 wonderful years together.
The two were blessed with 4 children.
Dennis enjoyed many things but his favorite things were fishing, collecting coins and watches, traveling and spending time with his children, grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was a member of Verona Christian church.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Dennis Ray Allman Jr., brothers Bobby and Joe Allman and sisters, Doris Henson and Eva Eubanks.
He is survived by his wife, Deleva of Aurora MO, son James Allman and wife Donna of Lufkin, TX, daughter Karen Allman of Whitehouse, TX, and daughter Lori and husband Paul Wiese of Mt. Vernon, MO, as well as 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A remembrance was held Saturday July 30th with his immediate family.
Dennis was a very loving husband and father. He dedicated his whole life to taking care of his family. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
