Denny Frieze

Denny Frieze passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 2, 2021, at Joplin Mercy Hospital ER.  He was born July 31,1946, to Carl and Hazel (Shouse) Frieze.  He grew up in Ash Grove and worked several jobs while in high school.
On Oct. 28, 1967, Frieze married Anita Wolfe at the First Christian Church in Greenfield.  They moved to Joplin in 1975. Frieze retired, after 40 years with Empire District Electric Company, as Senior Manager of Substation Operations and Management. 
Frieze was a wood worker who made furniture and gifts for family and friends.  He was a member of the Stateline Woodturners in Springdale, Ark.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hazel Frieze; brother, Jim Frieze; and Anita’s parents, Don and Agnes Wolfe.  He is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Susan Frieze (Jim Burnside); daughter, Sarah  (Carl) Loughery; sisters-in law, Martha Lou Frieze, Janet (Lyle) Burns, LaDonna Wolfe; brother-in-law, Robert (Colleen) Wolfe; three nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service was held at South Joplin Christian Church at 11 a.m.  on Sept. 7, 2021. Memorial graveside services will be at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove at 2 p.m. on September 11, 2021,
