Donald Harold Coney

Donald Harold Coney, 76, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at National Health Care, in Joplin. He was born May 30, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Robert Erroll and Delores Evelyn (Weir) Coney.
Coney was a 1963 graduate of Sioux City High School in Sioux City, Iowa and attended Longview College in Lee’s Summit. He served in the United State Army during the Vietnam era and was a master electrician for United Sign Corporation in Kansas City, for 41 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 124 in Kansas City, was a Webelo Leader, and a member of the VFW in Lake Lotawana.
On Sept. 9, 1965, he married Virginia Elaine Moon, in Raytown.
Coney is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia; one son, Daniel Coney (Mary), of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one daughter, Catherine Daily (Stan), of Aurora; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Coney was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, and Delores; sister, Joann Coney; brother, Bob Coney and his wife, Patty and brother-in-law, Charlie Nearman.
A memorial service was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora.
