Donald Lee Sexton

Donald Lee Sexton, 86, of Miller passed away Oct. 8 at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. He was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Olinger, the son of Olin and Nadine (Smith) Sexton.
Sexton was a 1952 graduate of Miller High School and was a United States Marine veteran. He worked as a superintendent for Blevins Asphalt for 29 years, Master’s and Jackson Asphalt for 15 years and retired from the Dade County Road District at the age of 84.
On June 27, 1959, he married Sheila (Shi) Pendleton in Aurora.  
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; daughter, Shannon (Tim) Neely of Mt. Vernon; son, Shawn Sexton of Miller; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Wilmott of Harrisonville; several nieces and nephews and a dearly loved cousin, Janice Plybon, of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Sid Sexton; nephew, Dennis Washam; sister, Evilyn (Max) Washam and a brother-in-law, Pete Wilmott.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 14, at the Pennsboro Cemetery, north of Miller.
