Doris “Kay” Dacy

Doris “Kay” Dacy, 76, of Pierce City passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Place Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Pierce City on Saturday, Dec. 8, 1945; the daughter of Joe C. and Millie (Stark) Young. She married James “Jim” Richard Dacy on Dec. 22, 1962, in Neosho. Dacy attended Pierce City High School. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are the following: two daughters, Shelly (Mark) Flummerfelt of Pierce City and Theresa (Kevin) Cadick of Monett; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen (Mary) Young of Monett; one sister, Marion Knight of Sarcoxie; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Millie Young; husband, Jim Dacy; five brothers, Jay Presley, Don Young, Leroy Young, Carl Young, and Jimmy Young; and five sisters, Ida Mae Hilker, Norma Jean Dacy, Carolyn Sue Hawkins, Barbara Reno, and Nancy Jane Young.
There will be a viewing from 1:30-2 p.m. at the cemetery on Friday, May 13, 2022. Graveside services will follow beginning at 2 p.m. at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City on Friday, May 13, 2022 with Jimmie Finch officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
