Doris Ann (Heimerman) Case

Doris Ann (Heimerman) Case, 80, of Pierce City passed away on Dec. 3, 2020. She was born on July 4, 1940 in Hutchinson, Kan. the youngest of seven children of Aloysius and Barbara Heimerman.
She received her basic education at St. Teresa Catholic School in Hutchinson, graduating in 1958. She then attended Mercy School of Nursing in Ft. Scott, Kan., graduating as a registered nurse in 1961. On May 26, 1962 she married James E. Case III at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
The next 40 years she worked as an RN in Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, and California as she followed her husband through his college and Navy career. She retired in 2002 as a clinical supervisor of a home health service in California.
She is survived by her husband; her children, James E. IV of Grapevine, Texas, Robert A (Paula) of Tracy, Calif., Sue of the home, and Carol Evans of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters-in-law, Donna Heimerman of Crowley, Texas. and Patricia Branstetter of Salina, Kan.; brother-in-law John (Mary Doris) Case of Summerville, S.C.; and 20 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Reynold, Lawrence, and Harold; sisters, Bernice Campfield, Jeanette Kaja and Teresa Beckett.
A rosary will be prayed at Buchanan Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Graveside service will be held in Wray, Colo., at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
