Dorothy Lou Weldy

Dorothy Lou Weldy, 89, of Aurora, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Marionville, the daughter of William “Ted” and Vesta (Frazier) Cross.
Weldy was a 1950 graduate of Marionville High School and was a lab technician. She was a member of the Red Hats Club and the Aurora Baptist Temple.
On May 24, 1997, she married William Jennings Weldy in Eureka Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2012.
Weldy is survived by her brother, David Cross (Nina), of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Belinda Herndon of Billings; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepchildren and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted, and Vesta; daughter, Paula Herndon; son, Harold “Weener” Herndon; first husband, Don Herndon; second husband, Billy Tiede; third husband, William Weldy; brother, John Cross and two sisters, Florence Cross and Suzanne Cavener.
A visitation was held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a graveside service that followed at 3 p.m. at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Aurora Baptist Temple Missions, in care of the funeral home.
