Eldon Lee McCracken

Eldon Lee McCracken, 82, of Monett, passed away July 16, 2020, while at the Truman Healthcare and Rehab Center in Lamar, with family at his side.
McCracken was born Oct. 15, 1937 in Butterfield, son of the late Floyd McCracken and Mayme (McGuire) McCracken. McCracken began his working years at the MFA Feed Mill in Aurora prior to being a hay hauler and wood cutter. He then began the McCracken Fence Co. before finally starting McCracken and Sons Backhoe Service, which he operated for over 15 years. McCracken was a member of the Monett Church of the Nazarene.
In 1957, in Monett, he married Marolyn Lorena Culver. To this union five children were born. They were blessed with almost 50 years together until her passing in 2007.
He is survived by: sons, Richard (Bonnie) McCracken and Marvin (Lori) McCracken all of Monett; daughters, Sherry Gorman, of Cleveland, Latricia (Leland) Gryder of Monett and Nina (Gary) White of Lamar; 24 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by: brothers, Jim and Danny McCracken; and sister, Ruby Betterton.
