Ernte Fest rides again, for 46th time

The Freistatt Lions Club held their 46th annual Ernte Fest on Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug. 17. The total attendance for the two-day affair was around 2,000 people. The event featured authentic German food, Bingo hosted by the Aurora Lions Club, an anvil shooting demonstration, games and a bounce house for children, a chicken dance contest on both nights, a bratwurst eating contest, polka music by the Polka Meister and the Johnnie Ziebert Band, and live rock-n-roll by Big Smitty.
