Esther K. Bryant

Esther K. Bryant, 95, of Carthage passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin. She was born Oct. 15, 1926 in Carthage to Sol Bishop and Ella Edna Campbell. Bryant was a lifetime resident of Carthage. She retired in 1988 after 27 years with H.E. Williams. Bryant was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and The American Legion Ladies Auxilluary in Webb City.
Bryant was married to Arthur C. Bryant on March 31, 1949 in Conway County, Ark.; he preceded her in death in March 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Earline Williams of Carthage; Sarah James of Carthage and Mary Blackford (Robert), of Carthage; two sons, Thomas Bryant (Brenda), of Tipton Ford and Dan Bryant (Shelly), of Carthage; two sisters, Margaret McCoy of Carthage and Barbara Rose of Aurora; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Bryant is preceded by her husband, Arthur C. Bryant; one son, Russ Sandlin (2006); her parents, Sol and Ella Bishop; two brothers, Robert and George Bishop; two sisters, Rosemary Coady and Lillian Herring; and a granddaughter, Cindy Curtiss.
A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage. A visitation was from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) or the American Legion in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
