Ethel Mae “Essie” Brookshire

Ethel Mae “Essie” Brookshire, 83, of Leann passed away April 27, 2021 at her home.  She was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Brookshire was a 1955 graduate of Central High School in Los Angeles, Calif. and graduated from San Diego Mesa College in San Diego, Calif., with her associates degree.  She was the owner/operator of White Cane Instruments for the blind.
On April 10, 1955, she married Carl T. Brookshire in San Diego, Calif.  He preceded her in death on July 20, 2000.
Brookshire is survived by her sons, Timmy, Danny, Randy, and Michael. Brookshire was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel Flynn; mother, Margaret Buell; her husband; brother, John Dillaha and one grandson.
A funeral service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora was held May 3, 2021, at the Leann School House with burial followed at the Leann Cemetery.
