Eugene Lee Jones
Eugene Lee Jones, 82, of rural Exeter passed away June 2, 2021, while at his home.
Jones was born on March 18, 1939 in La Junta, Colo., son of the late Eugene and Helen (Hubbard) Jones. Jones graduated from La Junta High School in 1957 and went to study auto mechanics in Denver. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country honorably for six years.
Jones worked for Blaylock-Koons Chevrolet before owning and operating Lee’s Auto Service in Ridgely until he retired in 2001. Jones was a faithful member of the Assembly of God for many years, and recently had attended Ozark Christian Church.
In August of 1961, Jones married Sharon Duncan. To this union, two sons were born. Sharon preceded Lee in death. He later married Dorothy Blinzler on July 12, 2014.
Those surviving include his wife; sons, Kevin Jones, of Ridgely and Mike (Annetta) Jones of Diamond; step-son, Darrell (Debbie) Lamp of Springfield; sister, Earlene Russell, of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and special friends, Mike and Angie Engel, of Hutchinson, Kan.
Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon and brother, Ray Jones.
Graveside services were held June 8, 2021 at the Rocky Comfort Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Ozark Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
