Eva Maxine Marlenee Bowling Brittian

Eva Maxine Marlenee Bowling Brittian was born to Henry and Iva Marie (Vaux) Marlenee on May 13, 1931, in Carlisle, Iowa.  She was the youngest of six siblings. The Lord above took Eva to her heavenly home at 5:53 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and we are sure she is singing praises with her heavenly family.
Eva Marie is survived by one daughter, Pam Hilton, of Aurora, Missouri; four grandchildren, Eric Russell of Crane, Missouri, Michael and Crystal Hilton of Marshfield, Missouri, Tisha and Marvin Arnold of Aurora and Julie Medina of Orangeville, Pennsylvania; six great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Iva, one brother, five sisters, her daughter, Linda S. Medina, one grandson, T.R. Medina, son-in-law, Jerry J. Hilton, her first husband, Delmar L. Bowling, several nieces, nephews and her longtime companion Arthur Stephens of California.
Eva Maxine was a kind, God loving woman who worked hard all her life.  She started working at the age of sixteen for a doctor in Iowa.  In the 1950’s she worked at the Community Hospital in Red Bluff, California.  Our family moved to Missouri in 1958.  Eve worked for years at the Aurora Hospital.  She wanted to continue nursing and worked two jobs to achieve her nursing degree.  In 1966 she received her LPN license from Burge School of Nursing.  She continued to go to school at Missouri State University and received many nursing certificates for her career.
Eva Maxine worked at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, then transferred to St. John’s (now Mercy) in Springfield and worked in the intensive care unit for eleven years.  She was missing her family in California and moved back in the 1990’s.  Eva went to work for the San Antonio Hospital of California until she retired.
Eva went to 23 different schools as her parents were Assembly of God Ministers and teachers.  The era of time she grew up in was a hard time for our country.  Eva said her family prayed for God to provide food and clothing for her family and the good Lord never let them down.
Eva Maxine had many stores to tell of her life and enjoyed being with family and friends.
The family of Eva Marie would like to send a Big Thank You to the people of this community for being so kind and making Eva Maxine feel at home in Aurora, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
Eva and the family have requested in lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s memory may be made payable to any Educational Programs, in care of the funeral home.
