Ferol was a 1955 graduate of Paramount High School in Paramount, California.  A member of the Round Grove Baptist Church, she was a telephone switchboard operator and a proud homemaker.  She kept books for the family farm and developed plans for cross-fencing and setting up rotational grazing.  Her ideas led to a Grasslands award from the Soil and Water Conservation Dept.  She enjoyed spending time at the horse races with her husband and sister.  Some great friendships were formed on league night at the local bowling alley.  She had a love of classic country music.  She and Dainnie spent many weekends square dancing and waltzing to local country bands.  Many summer nights were spent singing and playing guitar at the Miller Hootenanny.  She loved to travel with her family, planning trips for them all over the US and 3 continents.
On December 7, 1957, she married Dainnie Rae Herod, in Wichita, Kansas.  Together they raised 2 daughters and a granddaughter.
Ferol is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dainnie; two daughters, Danette Dallas and her husband, Willie, of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Denise Herod of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Willie Dallas, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Ineke Dallas of Edmond, Oklahoma and Anna Herod Terry and her husband Jeff, of Warrensburg, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Jarrett Terry, PVT2 Jaron Terry and Joie Terry; one sister, Evelyn Reed of Springfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Ferol was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Della Mae; one brother, James Bumgarner; and two sisters, Mildred Linder and Joyce Phillips.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon.  Burial will follow at the Goss Cemetery, northwest of Mt. Vernon.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021, in the funeral home chapel.
