Gallen Leo Reighard

Gailen Leo Reighard,  94, of Clever, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at the Republic Nursing and Rehab in Republic.  He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Clarence Roscoe and Blanch E. (Statler) Reighard.
Reighard worked in the appliance business and owned Reighard Appliance Sales and Service in Washington, Iowa.  He attended the Church of God in Brighton Iowa.    
On Dec. 29, 1949, he married Betty Darlene Zickefoose, in Washington, Iowa.  In 2000, they moved to Clever.  
Reighard is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty;  two sons, Ronald Reighard (Diane), Halltown, and Mike Reighard (Neda), Clever; seven grandchildren; 17  great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Reighard and Roger Reighard, both of Washington County, Iowa; one sister, Iva Burkett of Iowa City, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
Reighard was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence, and Blanch; one son, Randall Reighard and his wife, Cynthia; two brothers, Allen, and Carrol Reighard and one sister, Joyce Chance.
A graveside service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at the Frazier Cemetery southeast of Clever.
