Helen Marie Clapper

Helen Marie Clapper, 90, of Chesterfield formerly of Pierce City passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 while at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1932 in Galena daughter of the late Clyde Earl Sharp and Lennie Rosetta (Wilson) Sharp.
Clapper graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1950. She attended the Blue Bonnet Beauty School in Springfield and later became an instructor. She had also worked at the shoe factory in Aurora.
On April 14, 1965, she was united in marriage to Joseph Robert Clapper. This union was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. The past 10 years, she resided with her daughter and son-in-law where they lovingly cared for her.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 39 years, Joseph Clapper; her parents, Clyde and Lennie Sharp; her brother, Clyde Junior Sharp; and sister-in-law, Ruby Sharp.
Clapper is survived by her son, Sammy Clapper (Julie), of Monett; her daughter, Kathy Flaspohler (Brian), of Chesterfield; a grandson, A; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Pierce City, with Pastor Garrett Maxey officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
