Holiday Central now accepting applications

Applications for the annual Holiday Central distribution will be accepted now through Nov. 1, 2019. Anyone living within the Mt. Vernon R-5 School District is eligible to apply if they will be in need of assistance this holiday season. Holiday Central can help with food and cleaning supplies as well as new clothing and gifts for school children through age 18. Distribution will be Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 and approved applicants must be present.
Links to the online application form can be found on the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce’s website at www.mtvchamber.com and on the Holiday Central Facebook page (FB@HolidayCentralMV). Basic household information will be collected along with children’s ages and clothing sizes. Holiday Central representatives will be at the St. Susanne’s Food Pantry distribution in October to assist with online enrollment. Those having questions or needing assistance with registration may email their phone number and contact info to holidaycentralmv@gmail.com and a Holiday Central representative will contact them. Applications will be reviewed and approved applicants will be notified by mail with distribution instructions.
Holiday Central of Mount Vernon is an approved 501(c)(3) charity and donations are tax deductible. There are numerous ways that you can help Holiday Central provide much needed assistance to those in need this Christmas. There will be toy bins at various businesses during November to collect new toys for children up to age 18. Angel Trees will be displayed at participating businesses for children’s clothing needs. Monetary donations are always welcome and should be made payable to Holiday Central and mailed to: Holiday Central, c/o Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 373, Mount Vernon MO 65712.
