James Edward Pierce

James Edward Pierce, 91, of Pierce City passed away Sept. 28 at Missouri Veterans Home/Mt. Vernon. He was born in Floral, Kan. March 23, 1929. He was the son of William Franklin and Helen Beatrice (Moore) Pierce. Pierce attended school in Leon, Kan. He was a member of the Army (1950-1952) where he was a medic and served during the Korean War. He was married to Lorene Rosewicz  May 16, 1953 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield. He spent many years as a truck driver. Pierce was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield and the El Dorado, Kan. VFW Post #1174.
Surviving are his wife, Lorene of the home; sons, Jim (Pam) Pierce of El Dorado, Kan., and Joe (Mary) Pierce of Wichita, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Wileva Vaughn and Wanda Wimberly.
The family received friends at the Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City Oct. 1. Graveside services, with Military Honors, were followed at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
