James L. Pilant

James L. Pilant, 81, of Cassville passed away May 27, 2021 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.
He was born May 11, 1940 in Cassville the son of Aubrey and Virgie (Edie) Pilant who preceded him in death.  Also preceding him in death were wives, Wilma J. Riddle and Roberta Pilant; brothers, Charles and Harold “Bud” and sister, Sue Casner.
Surviving are son, Lance Pilant of Cassville; daughter, Debra (Bruce) Nickle of Cassville and brother, Ronnie (Sheilyn) Pilant of Lebanon; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pilant grew up and received his education in Cassville graduating from Cassville High School.  He was a lifetime resident of Barry County and was employed by Blalack-Koon Chevrolet in the body shop for many years and later by Barry Electric Cooperative as a construction foreman, electrician and lineman.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held June 1, 2021 at Pilant Cemetery in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
A celebration of life after the service was held at Bruce and Debbie Nickle’s.
