James Leroy Sherman

James Leroy Sherman, 85, of Cassville, passed away Dec. 29, 2019. He was born June 23, 1934, to William and Maude (Whitaker) Sherman, in Lemoore, Calif. Following graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country proudly. In 2000, he married Freida Loyd in Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Survivors include: wife Freida Sherman, of Cassville; son, Michael Sherman, of Pierce City; two step-sons, Darren Loyd, of Bakersfield, Calif. and Steven (Laura) Rivera of Duenweg; step-daughter, Caci Rivera, of Bakersfield, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Julia) Sherman of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Leah Sherman; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services and burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield, Calif. Local arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
