Janice Faye “Grannie Jan” Moore

Janice Faye “Grannie Jan” Moore, 77, passed away Jan. 8, 2019, while in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family.
Moore was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Ramona, Okla., to the late Otis and Nola (Brown) Wofford. She grew up in Talala, Okla., where she graduated from high school. She then furthered her education at Rogers University in Claremore, Okla. For many years, she worked in the shoe department at Walmart. She was a member of New Site Baptist Church as well as the American legion ladies auxiliary in Talala. Moore enjoyed singing, working with youth and especially spending time with her family. In 1964, she married Bob J. Moore in Joplin. They were blessed with over 53 years of wonderful memories made together until his passing in 2017.
Moore is survived by: sons, Dusty Moore, of Monett and Greg Moore, of Pierce City; daughter, Brenda (Mike) Fisher of Independence; brothers, Joe (Joyce) Wofford Cecilia, Ky., and Darold Wofford, of Miami, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one grandson.
Memorial services were held Jan. 12, 2019, at New Site Baptist Church in Monett. Memorials may be made to the New Site Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
