Joe Forest Bedwell

Joe Forest Bedwell, 87, of Aurora, passed away Jan. 5, 2020, at the Seneca House in Seneca. He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Granby, to Cleophas and Mary (Hobson) Bedwell.
Bedwell was a 1951 graduate of Granby High School and attended the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla for two years. He was a United States Air force veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He worked for the FAA for 30 years, as a radar technician. He was a member of the Aurora First Baptist Church as well as the Granby Masonic Lodge #514 AF & AM. In 1961, he married JoAnn Bright, in Granby. She preceded him in death July 15, 1991.
Bedwell is survived by: daughter, Colleen James of Mt. Vernon; sons, Matthew (Dana) Bedwell of Belton and Joe S. (Dawn) Bedwell of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; sister, Glendon Carpenter; and brother, Wray Bedwell.
A visitation was held from 12-1 p.m. Jan. 9, 2020, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with a graveside service that followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.Memorials may be made payable to the Aurora First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
