Johnnie Melvin Riddle

Johnnie Melvin Riddle, 81, of Mt. Vernon, passed away March 18, 2020, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Boone County, Ark., to Clifford and Lori (Proctor) Riddle.
Riddle was a United States Navy veteran and he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Kansas City, Kan. for 20 years. He was a custodian for the Turner High School in Kansas City, Kan. and was a retired truck driver. In 1967, he married Connie Louise Ragsdale, in Mt. Vernon. She preceded him in death May 15, 2019.
Riddle is survived by: daughters, Angela (Monte) Howell of Farmington, Ark., Pamela (Terry) Bernard of Kansas City, Kan. and Melody Shaw of Belton; five sisters-in-law, Hazel (Paul) Spurgeon of Kirbyville, Marty Kultgen of Miller, Sandy (Charles) Hadley of Marionville, Carlita Vandergrift and Candy Ragsdale, both of Mt. Vernon; brothers-in-law, Leon (Monica) Ragsdale of Miller, Randy (Debbie) Ragsdale of Joplin, Mark (Connie) Ragsdale of Miller, Alan Ragsdale of Joplin, Jeff (Cheryle) Ragsdale of Seneca and Mike (Carrie) Ragsdale of Miller; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Riddle was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Connie; and sister, Margie (Don) McGehee.
