Johnny Ray Miller

Johnny Ray Miller, 85, of Pierce City passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Granby House in Granby. He was born in Pierce City on Sept. 25, 1936; son of Raymond Joseph and Hattie (Hilker) Miller. Miller graduated from Pierce City High School in 1954. He served in the Army National Guard for 20 years. Miller married Helen Roberta Riddle on Friday, Nov. 19, 1971, in Oklahoma. 
Surviving are the following: one daughter, Elizabeth Parrish of Independence; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy Stewart of Lee’s Summit, Linda Ferguson of Pierce City, Patty Elbert of Monett and Debbie Creed of Purdy.
Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hattie Miller; his wife, Helen; his son, Jaryl Beckett; two brothers, Raymond “Leroy” and Eddie Miller; and two sisters, Mary Nelson and Louise Waldo.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022.
Funeral services will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, with Chaplain Robert Mattingly officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
