Keith Ray Owens

Keith Ray Owens, 70, passed away Jan. 10, 2020, in Springfield. Owens was born March 11, 1949, in Monett, to Robert and Enid (Amos) Owens.
Owens graduated from Monett High School and went on to serve his country in the Army in Vietnam. He served with the 1st/9th cavalry air mobile with his training in aircraft armament. When he returned he received his college degree in business administration and psychology from Columbia College. He was employed by Foremost Dairies, GM dealership for some 30 years then retired from Sprint as a senior technical manager. He was married to Marilyn Kresse in 1980. He was a member of Parkview Christian Church of Springfield. He also was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association since 2005.
He is survived by: his wife, Marilyn Owens of Springfield; daughter Kathleen (David) Martin of Fordland; brothers, Jim (Diana) Owens, Edward Lee (Isabel) Owens, Billy (Cindy) Owens, Jeff (Darcy) Owens, sisters Patricia (Alan) Tiffin, Debra (Lonnie) Knight, Donna (James) Osterloh, Glenda (Danny) Morrow and Sonja (Michael) Hiller; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Chad Keith Owens; his parents through marriage, E.J. and Frances Kresse; and sister-in-law Janet Kresse.
Visitation was held Jan. 21, 2020, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St. Funeral services followed in the funeral home. Military honors were held in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be made to Parkview Christian Church or Walnut Lawn Funeral Home to be given to our local Patriot Guard. Owens was cremated and his care was entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory.
