Lady Mt’neers fall to Fayetteville; look to Pink & White

The Mt. Vernon girl’s varsity basketball team traveled Saturday, Dec. 15, to Ozark to take on Fayetteville, Ark., in the Scoreboardguy Shootout. The Lady Mt’neers lost a tough battle 60-46.
Mt. Vernon trailed from the beginning in the cross-state rival contest, trailing after one quarter 16-12 and at the half by nine, 37-28.
The lead grew to 10 by the end of the third quarter, 47-37, and 14 by the final buzzer, 60-46.
Cameron Call led Mt. Vernon with 13 points, while Caitlin Hicks added 11 and Lacy Stokes had nine.
The Lady Mt’neers will compete in the Pink and White Lady Classic over the holidays, opening with a game against Buffalo on Wednesday, Dec. 26. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Weiser Gym on the campus of Drury University.
