Larry Gene Matthews

Larry Gene Matthews, age 60, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 8:43 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at his home.  He was born November 11, 1959, in Lockwood, Missouri, the son of Gaylord and Mary Alice (Forrester)Matthews.
Larry was a 1978 graduate of Miller High School and was a farmer and carpenter and a member of the Miller Rural Fire Association.
On May 28, 1983, he married Lisa Holton in Everton, Missouri.
Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa; one daughter, Brandy Matthews of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one son, J.D. Matthews and his wife, Jessa, of Miller; six grandchildren, Jayde and Aden Moore, Bentley Totton, Owen and Maddie Jo Matthews and Kastin Quick; one sister, Cheri Parker of Humansville, Missouri; mother-in-law, Vicki Holton, of Everton; two nephews, Matthew Coyle of Stockton, Missouri and James Parker of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Larry Holton and his wife, Tina, of Ash Grove, Missouri and Donald Holton and his wife, Jessica, of Miller; one aunt and uncle and many cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Mary, sister, Jackie Coyle and father-in-law, Leon Holton.
A private family graveside, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020, at the Carrs Chapel Cemetery in Everton, Missouri.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date.
