Lawrence Anthony Wright

Lawrence Anthony Wright, 82, of Aurora,  passed away  Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. He was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Mineola, N.Y., the son of the late Lawrence and Madeline Wright.
Wright was a 1957 graduate of Mineola High School in Mineola, N.Y. and was a United States Navy veteran. After the service he was working in a restaurant where he met his wife, Darlene. He worked in swimming pool maintenance before going to work for Ouikrete Companies in Winter Haven. Fla. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Aurora.
On Sept. 20, 1969, he married Darlene Theresa Hartig in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Wright is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene; one daughter, Tamara McCormick of Aurora; one son, Talmar McCormick, of Aurora; one sister, Sally Wright of Philadelphia, Pa; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A funeral mass, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Aurora. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield.
