Lee Roy Morris

Lee Roy Morris, 79, of Monett passed away Saturday May 21, 2022 at his home in Monett. He was born in Pierce City on Nov. 24, 1942; the son of the late Lones and Lorene (Sooter) Morris. He was united in marriage on March 6, 1963 in Monett to Nellie Sue VanAmber; she survives.
He was retired from the United States Air Force having served his country during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Nazarene Church in Monett.
He is survived by his wife Nellie of the home; two sons: James Morris of Monett and Mark Morris of Burton, Kan.; 10 brothers: Jack, Lones, Jr., Loyd Loren, Leo, Larry, Lester, Lonnie, Luther, and Lem Joe; two sisters: Lily Herzer and Linda Hayes; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lones and Lorene; one brother: Lawrence (Bo) and one sister: Mary.
Visitation for Morris is being held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Graveside services are being held at 1 p.m. on Friday May 27, 2022  at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield.
