Linda Anne Hicks Bowman

Linda Anne Hicks Bowman passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born on March 2, 1953 in Webb City. Her place of residence since 2015 was Rocky Ridge Healthcare in Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Eugene Hicks, a Navy veteran; her sister, Cynthia Jane Hicks; her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Lurla Jane Teague; and her maternal grandparents, Mary Ethel and John Taylor, all of whom were from Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Freiburger (Thad) and their three children, Dillon, Tristan and Courtney Freiburger, of Verona; her mother, Emma June Hicks, of Mt. Vernon; her brother, Greg Hicks, of Fairfield, Iowa; her sister, Valerie Gilmartin (Mac), of Monett; her uncle, Jim Teague (Kathy), of Springfield; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Bowman was confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon at a young age. She was a member of the Order of Rainbow Girls in Aurora and had attended schools in Aurora. While in high school, she was a candy striper at the Aurora Hospital. She was a very hard worker. She had worked as a nurse’s aid, worked at the shoe factory in Monett, but is remembered most by many, as a clerk at Horton’s Clothing Store in Aurora where she worked for many years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Smart Cemetery, which is located between Billings and Clever on Smart Road off of Highway 14. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
