Luke Allen Willhite

Luke Allen Willhite, 16, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. He was born in Springfield, on Thursday, April 21, 2005; son of Randy and Lenee (Weldy) Willhite. He was a junior at Aurora High School. Previously, he had participated in band and was a manager of some of the sports teams. Willhite was an active member of Verona Baptist Church. He helped with announcements, Vacation Bible School, participated in programs for Easter and Christmas, and was active in the youth group.
Surviving are his parents, Randy and Lenee Willhite of Aurora; his sister, Lauren Willhite of Aurora; his brother, Sam Salas of Aurora; maternal grandma, Jane Weldy of Aurora; paternal grandpa, Marvin Willhite of Aurora; paternal grandparents, Duane and Beverly Gilson of Nixa; and his other family, Joe Radon and Leann Sandoval and his other sisters, Brookelynn and Hannah Sandoval all of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, John Jr. Weldy; paternal grandma, Dorothy Willhite; cousin, Marty Allen Willhite; and two uncles, Marty and Craig Willhite.
The family will receive friends at Aurora High School in Aurora, from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022.
A celebration of life will be at Aurora High School in Aurora, beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, with Pastor Lendall Morris and Pastor Larry Herndon officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Memorials may be made to the Barry-Lawrence County Developmental Center building fund in care of the funeral home.
