Lynne (Jennie) Mathis

January 6, 1941-November 1, 2020
Lynne (Jennie) Mathis or otherwise known as Nana, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 6, 1941, to Robert L and Jennie (Burton) Crawford in Moberly, MO. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School and attended the University of Central Missouri. She married the love of her life, Don W. Mathis on September 2, 1961.
They began their family in Carrollton, MO, moving to Sedalia, MO, and then to Springfield, MO, where Lynne made miniatures for Little Nell’s. She loved to knit, crochet and read but had a sincere love of gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. She made the best dill pickles, green beans, and the most amazing apple butter. Later they moved to Halltown, MO, spending many years planning and preparing for their final move to a larger farm in Miller, MO, where they raised registered Limousin cattle. Lynne owned a matched set of white ponies that she drove by wagon in area shows, play days and trail rides.
Lynne loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Sondra Bock and brother-in-law Doyle Bock; as well as her niece Janice Horne, nephew Nathan Schmidt, and her husband and best friend of 55 years, Don.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Missy) McCoy and husband Kenny; her son, Michael Mathis and wife Olivia; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Lynne was deeply loved and admired by many.
Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Miller Senior Citizens Center, 201 E. 1st Street Miller, MO 65707 or donate by calling (417) 452-3688.
