Margaret Lenora Bales

Margaret Lenora Bales, 98, of Marionville passed away July 3, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Nebraska, the daughter of Harold and Bernice Tyson.
Bales was a 1941 graduate of Shawnee Mission High School in Shawnee Mission, Kan. and was a registered nurse. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Marionville and was a member of the All-Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock.
On Aug. 31, 1944, she married Raymond Harold Bales in Wilmington, Del. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2015.
Bales is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lynn Bales of Northrop, Minn.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, James (Joyce) Bales of Overland Park, Kan. and several nieces and nephews.
Bales was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Raymond Harold Bales, Jr. and Charles Robert Bales; brothers, Ted and Buel Bales and sister, Thelma Brashears.
A private burial will be held at a later date at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Arrangements are under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville.
