Mary Lenore Droska

Mary Lenore Droska, 101, of Wentworth passed away June 5, 2021 at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin. She was born in Wichita, Kan. Feb. 6, 1920; the daughter of John J. and Mary (Meagher) Welsh. Droska graduated from Diamond High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She married Joseph Droska at St. Agnes in Sarcoxie. Droska was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Droska is survived by daughter, Mary (Dale) Ward of Joplin; son, John J. (Regina) Droska of St. Louis; a son-in-law, Larry Byler of Carl Junction; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, James and a daughter, Margaret Byler.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6-7 p.m. A Prayer Service and Rosary will follow.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie on Thursday, June 10, 2021 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Sarcoxie. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
