Mary Lou Yarbrough

Mary Lou Yarbrough, 94, of Carthage passed away June 17, 2021 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Yarbrough was born April 13, 1927 in Carthage, the daughter of Paul and Romaine (Kollenburn) Richardson. She was a 1945 graduate of Carthage High School. She married Charles Yarbrough on July 28, 1946. Yarbrough was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was active in Music Club, the Carthage Humane, Society and the Rotary and Music Clubs musicals.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula Agan (Tom), and Mary Martha Schmidt (Mike), both of Overland Park, Kan.; three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the nurse’s fund at Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage Humane Society, or Integrity Hospice in care of Knell Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
