Milton Ray Johnson
Milton Ray Johnson, 82, of Monett passed away Nov. 10, 2020, while at Oak Pointe of Monett.
Johnson was born Feb. 5, 1938 in Pierce City son of the late Arthur and Ellna (Doennig) Johnson. He graduated from Pierce City High School with the class of 1956. In 1956, he began his honorable service to his country in the National Guard until 1959. He then served in the Reserves until 1962. For many years, he worked as a Production Supervisor for Hydro Aluminum, formerly Wells Aluminum, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett. His service to the church included elder, board of directors, Sunday school superintendent, trustee and various other committees.
On June 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to Kay Trump.
He is survived by his wife; children, Jeff Johnson of Lee’s Summit and Janet (Jeff) Ryder of Wentzville; grandson, Jackson Ryder of Wentzville; two nieces; sister-in-law, Connie Johnson of Pierce City, as well as a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Johnson.
A graveside service was held Nov. 19, 2020 at McCormick-St. John’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Braille Workers in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
