MVPD National Night Out draws hundreds

Around 400 people turned out for the annual National Night Out celebration hosted by the Mt. Vernon Police Department at Spirit of ’76 Park, Aug. 6.
The community enjoyed food, face painting, balloon animals, bounce houses, getting to meet Spiderman and the spectacle of a helicopter, which was on site. During the event, two bicycles were given away, one to 6-year-old Aaliyah Holmes and the other to 6-year-old Ernie Lathem. (Photo submitted )
