Nedra A. Cornell

Nedra A. Cornell, age 86, of Springfield, Missouri, passed on to be with Jesus on April 14, 2019. She was born at home near Lamont, Oklahoma on October 27, 1932.
She retired from the Mt. Vernon Chest Hospital in 1992. She was a nursing assistant for 26 years. She and her husband Skinny lived on a farm near Verona for over 30 years. After Skinny’s death, she lived in Springfield. Nedra was baptized at Chesterfield Family Center on Feb. 19, 2017 and joined Temple Baptist Church, Springfield.
She is survived by four children, Lola Dyson, Dwight Edwards, Darlene Tucker and Maurice Harlow; her brother, Arnold Kirby; five step children, Norris Cornell, Judi Russell, Pam Jones, Patti Stanton, and Mike Cornell; her grandchildren Julia, Craigery, Chanel, Deidra, Daniel, and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Emilia, Natalie, Ethan, Dyson, Talon, Addison, and Sikes. Nedra also has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren of Skinny’s. She dearly loved them as her own!
Preceding Nedra in death were her husband, Skinny; infant brother Ronald, and brother Raymond; her parents, Evert and Doris Kirby; and her stepson, Wayne Cornell.
A visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service that begin at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 19, 2019 in Meadors Funeral Home, 314 N. Main Ave., Republic, MO 65738. Burial  followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic. Nedra had renal failure for almost five years.
