Newell R. Ward

Newell R. Ward, Jr, 66, of Golden passed away Oct. 7 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Ward was born in Kansas City on Aug. 9, 1954 to the late Newell R Ward, Sr. and Wanda (Jarvis) Ward. He graduated from Pierce City High School in 1973. He was married to Cindy Little May 26, 1973 at the family farm in Wentworth. He retired from EFCO where he was an estimator of windows. He attended church at First Baptist Church in Monett. He was a member of the Decatur Lodge #400 in Pierce City and was Chairman for The Village of Emerald Beach.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Cindy of the home; sons, Chip (Crystal) Ward of Phoenix, Ariz. and Chris Ward of Granite City, Ill.; brothers, Laverne (Kathy) Ward of Rogers, Ark. and Melvin Ward of Wentworth; and four grandchildren.
The family received friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City Oct. 10. Masonic services followed. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Decatur Lodge #400 in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
