Norma Jean Yost

Norma Jean Yost, age 83, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 3:04 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at her home. She was born February 14, 1938, in Lawrence County, Missouri, the daughter of Luther Ralph and Marie Anna (Hendrickson) Yost.
Norma was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and received her master’s degree from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri. Norma retired from the Miller School District after 30 years, where she was a high school counselor. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.
I am thankful for my family, friends, and students, whom I loved so much, and I pray all know Jesus in a personal, peaceful, and joyful way.
Norma is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Luther, and Marie and two sisters, Joretta Furst and Judy Cook.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown, Missouri. Visitation was from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, in the funeral home chapel.
