Paul Lewis Evatt, Sr.

Paul Lewis Evatt, Sr., age 81, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 4:56 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at his home.  He was born March 26, 1938, in Seymour, Missouri, the son of Fred Oscar and Della Ellen (Head) Evatt.
Paul was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a wire technician for AT&T and of the Baptist Faith.
On October 6, 1961, he married Eunia Sharlet Mathis in Miami, Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death on December 30, 1999.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Barbara Kay McCullough, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; one son, Paul Lewis Evatt, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida; seven grandchildren, Melissa Wooliver and her husband, Mike, of Oklahoma, Kristi Evatt of Missouri; Ricky McCullough of Oklahoma, Chevelle Mangum and her husband, Caleb, of Oklahoma, Kyle Evatt and his wife, Sara, of Missouri, Codie Evatt of Florida and Sarah Evatt of Florida; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jeremy, Sara, Caleb, Nakyla, Kamry, Dakota and Ayden; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Mt. Vernon and Helen Scott of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Bob Evatt of Mt. Vernon, Bill Evatt of Kansas City, Missouri and Floyd Evatt of Mt. Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Della, wife, Eunia, three brothers, Harold, James and Marvin Evatt and four sisters, Wanda Wolf, Stella Snell, Oleta Morgan and Florence Payne.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a graveside to follow at 2:45 p.m. at the Avilla Cemetery in Avilla, Missouri.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
