Peggy Lower

Peggy Lower, 86, of Pierce City passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Pierce City, on  Oct. 8, 1935; daughter of Elmer and Flora “Racine” (Rodgers) York. She graduated from Midway High School. She married James Joseph “Joe” Lower on Saturday, June 5, 1971, in Orange, Calif. In 1980,  Lower proudly retired as a retail clerk customer service representative for Ralph’s Market in Southern, Calif.
Surviving are the following: two daughters, Diana (Denis) Neumayer of Monett and Soni (Jim) Copeland of Pierce City; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn “Evie” York of Monett.
Lower was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Racine; and her husband, Joe.
Private services will be planned with the family at a later time. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
