Raena Carpenter

Raena Carpenter, 66, of Monett passed away on Thursday, April 23, at Cox-South Hospital in Springfield.  

She was born on June 3, 1959, in Monett, daughter of the late Cyrus Fred and Gloria Faye (Nichols) Carpenter. She graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1977.

She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Monett.  

She is survived by her nephew, Greyden Crawford and wife Madelyn of Monett; one sister, Julie Carpenter and Ray Tucker of Monett; one sister-in-law, Debbie Carpenter-Craig and husband Walker of Monett; two great-nieces, Layla and Azrya Crawford; 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Reggie Carpenter and one sister, Lisa Crawford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Tharp will officiate. Interment will follow at Calton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been requested to the Calton Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
