Rebecca “Becky” Kathleen Anderson

Rebecca “Becky” Kathleen Anderson, 48, of Pierce City passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She was born in Monett on Dec. 4, 1973; daughter of Walter and Kathleen (Parrigon) Houck. She went to school in Udall, Kan., St. Mary’s Grade School in Pierce City and was a 1992 graduate of Pierce City High School. She also received an associate degree from Missouri Southern State University. The family survived the Joplin tornado in 2011 where they lost everything. At her death, she was a paraprofessional for Monett School District.
Surviving are the following, two daughters, Cassandra Younker (Andrew), of Republic and Melody Anderson (Trenton Kluck) of Joplin; one step-daughter, Jodi Anderson of Kansas City; her parents, Walter and Kathy Houck of Wentworth; one brother, Matt Houck (Evelle), of Mt. Vernon; one nephew, Josh Lyall of Olathe, Kan. and many other friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Joan Parrigon and Linwood and Nona Houck.
The family received friends at Lakin Funeral Home, in Pierce City from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, Prayer service began at 7 p.m.
Services were at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City beginning at 10:30 a.m on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City.
For those who would rather give a memorial, they may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
